The Global Patent Scorecard™

Global Patent Scorecard™ (GPS) provides unique insight into national technological performance, including strengths in certain technical areas, the impact of patents on the rest of world, the linkage of national innovation with scientific research, and the speed of innovation. It reviews patents issued to the inventors from 59 countries between 1980 through 2009 and can be used as a tool to compare the performance of these countries. The GPS utilizes three distributions of patents; analyzed data is classified by 1) the US Standard Industrial Classification Product Field (SIC), 2) the International Patent Class (IPC), and 3) The Patent Board's own proprietary set of 30 technology areas.

The Global Patent Scorecard is available for an annual subscription price of $15,000 USD. The data is provided on CD-ROM and can be shipped within a day of receiving the order.
